Stereosonic Festival is Australia’s biggest and fastest growing dance music festival and takes place from November 29th to December 6th. Stereosonic, celebrates electronic music, good times and the start of summer. The world’s leading artists, from all spectrums of the electronic world, are showcased over two huge days in five Australian capital cities.

This year, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide have been selected to host this incredible two-day event. Two Stereosonic events are run simultaneously, with Sydney and Perth on November 29th/30th, Melbourne and Brisbane on December 5th/6th and sharing December 6th with Adelaide.
Stereosonic Festival started successfully in 2009 when all five cities hosted events. In 2011, Stereosonic Sydney was the largest festival ever held in Australia and over 60,000 people attended the event. Cities such as Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide were sold-out within minutes. However, it took until 2013 until the promoters expended the event to a two-day festival across all five cities.

This year’s line-up is simply amazing and includes some of the best DJs and artists in electronic music. The main event on the first day is certainly Scottish house DJ Calvin Harris producer of songs such as “Sweet Nothing”, “Drinking from the Bottle”, “I Need Your Love”, and “Thinking About You.” Dutchman Tiësto will set the ouse on fire followed by Disclosure, Splendor, Peking Duk and Nina Las Vegas. On Day two, Skrillex will make their big appearance after missing the event last year followed by festival favourite Steve Aoki, Carl Cox, Dash Berlin and Porter Robinson.

Stereosonic Sydney attracted over 60,000 fans in 2011 and became one of the most remembered events in recent history. Sydney Showground is the events precinct at Sydney Olympic Park. It was established in 1998 as a purpose-built home for major events
The Claremont Showground has a capacity for 40,000 fans and was sold out in the previous two years. The venue opened in 1905 and is home to the annual Perth Royal Show.
Adelaide Showground was sold out in the previous year and has a capacity of 35,000. Today, Adelaide Showground hosts all major events in Adelaide. The Showgrounds are located in the inner-southern Adelaide suburb of Wayville, just south of Greenhill Road.
The Melbourne Showgrounds opened in 2010 and hosts some of the largest music festivals in the area. However, the venue only has a capaicy of 3,000 and is located in the inner north-western suburb of Ascot Vale, Victoria, Australia, next door to Flemington Racecourse.
The Brisbane Showground has a capacity of over 25,000 and was opened in 1886. The venue was used for major sporting events and is now home to the Brisbane Bandits of the Australian Baseball League. The Exhibition ground is owned and operated by The Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland.
