Wicked the musical is a 2004 Broadway musical from Stephen Schwartz who produced the music for the show and the book from Winnie Holzman. Wicked is based on the novel ‘The Life and Times of The Wicked Witch of the West’ by Gregory Maguire and the comparable novel The Wizard of Oz. the full title of the musical ‘s ‘The Untold story of The Witches of Oz.’

The musical invites you to learn the story of the two Witches of Oz, Elphaba, the wicked witch of the West and Glinda the good witch of the North and their dubious relationship in the Land of Oz. The story focuses on both Oz before Dorothy’s arrival and the aftermath making strong references from the movie.

Wicked has received many acclimations comprising of three Tony Awards, six Drama Desk Awards and a Grammy Award for the cast album. Wicked the musical can also be admired for its long running success, becoming the twelfth longest Broadway show in existence, celebrating nine years.

The original Wicked production debuted on Broadway at the Gershwin Theatre in 2003, before a North American, Laurence Olivier nominated West End and International tour began. The success of Wicked the musical is demonstrated in the huge numbers of guests attending the shows as the North American tour and the West End show performed in front of two million people each.

The very talented cast for both the West End shows and the UK tour include, Louise Dearman and Nikki Davis-Jones as Elphaba and Gina Beck and Emily Tierney as Glinda.
