Elie Goulding, however, will still be celebrating her second week at number 1 with her single ‘Burn’ which is featured on the re-released album ‘Halcyon Days.’ Another exciting announcement has followed with the news that she will be playing an arena tour to take place in March 2014. Goulding will play gigs at the O2 in London, Echo Arena in Liverpool and the Capital FM arena in Newcastle.
Ellie Goulding achieved many accolades in her short spell in the limelight. Her achievements include winning the 2010 critic’s choice award at the Brits, winning the BBC’s sound of 2010 poll, US success which saw her single ‘Lights’ reaching number one on the billboard pop songs chart and most recently was nominated for 2013 MTV music awards for the song ‘I need your love’ in which she collaborated with Calvin Harris, the song was nominated for Best Collaboration and Best Song of the Summer.
In 2010, Ellie Goulding released her debut studio album ‘Lights’ which featured the lead single ‘Starry Eyed’ this song displayed Ellie’s unique voice and reached number 4 in the UK singles chart. Following the success of the diverse album, Ellie performed at the illustrious Glastonbury in the same year and at the backend of 2010 released a cover of Elton John’s ‘Your Song’ which peaked at number 7 in the chart. However, Ellie had the honour of performing her version of the classic at the Royal Wedding in 2011.
More recently her second studio album has been released entitled ‘Halcyon’ which has also been a triumph reaching number 2 in the UK album chart, more impressively in the top 10 in the US chart and in respectable standing in a number of different countries. Halcyon contained the lead single ‘Anything could happen’ which seized number 5 in the UK charts.
